My beloved child…are you sorely troubled and vexed by various pressures, trials and afflictions that worry and weary a human soul? Why are you bewildered by the fiery trial that has come upon you, as though some strange thing has happened to you? Don’t you yet understand that I Myself have Personally allowed it to touch your life…and for My Own good purpose? [Triune God…1 Peter 4:12]
In the Garden that night, My Divine Son Jesus took Peter, James and John along with Him, and He began to be deeply distressed and troubled. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, He said to them. Stay here and keep watch. [Mark 14:33-34] Now Christ My Son Himself feels a shuddering awe as He directly faces the struggle in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was being tempted to desire His Own will rather than the will of God: For since He Himself was tempted to desire His Own will rather than the will of God in that which He has suffered [Heb 2:18]
Christ My Son asked, Abba, Father, everything is possible for You. If it is possible, within the framework of Your plans, Your purposes, Your will, may this cup of suffering be taken from Me. [Mark 14:36] That was My Son’s human preference crying out to His Father…a valid request since I have assured My children that I would grant your request that is in agreement with My will. I assure you that you may have this confidence in approaching God: If you make any request in agreement with My will, I shall hear you. And since you know that I will hear you in whatever you ask, you may be sure, beyond the shadow of any doubt, that I shall grant you the request that is in agreement with My will you have made of Me. [1 John 5:14]
My Divine Son Jesus wins the victory over Himself in Gethsemane, and then He is enabled to endure the cross, despising the shame. Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, then not My will, but Thy will be done. An angel from Heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him. And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. [Matt 26:42; Luke 22:42-44]
When Christ Jesus added, “Not My will, but The will be done,” these words were much more than a determined resignation [as in grit your teeth and bear it] to do the will of God. These words involved a change of preference…no longer a preference for our natural human desire, but a preference now for the will of God…whatever it was/is.
My beloved child, this change of preference is not something merely verbal, or just in your thoughts. It is a real change, in your heart, that can truly say before God, and know that you actually mean it, It no longer matters to Me whether You take this cup of suffering from Me or not…what matters to Me is that Your will be done…whatever it is. Whatever the prospect of hardship or suffering, My Son Jesus is your example: He trusted His Father. His Father’s will was what He lived by and died by. It was all Jesus ever considered. In other words, your preference must change, ** **, and is now for the will of God. It is no longer a determined resignation to do the will of God; it is a joyful acceptance of the will of God as the very best, very kindest, most loving thing that can possibly be…knowing that God purposes to make all things work together for good.
The example set by My Divine Son Jesus is joyful acceptance: For the joy set before Him…the joy of seeing sinners saved; the joy of reconciling sinners back to God; the joy of restoring our relationship with God that had been severed by sin; the joy of repairing that mirror of the Almighty that God intended for us to be, that had been shattered by sin…He endured the cross, heedless of its shame.” [Heb 12:2]
Who for the joy that was set before Him: He had something in view under all His sufferings, which was pleasant to Him. He rejoiced to see that by His sufferings He should make satisfaction to the injured justice of God and give security to His honor and government, that He should make peace between God and man, that He should seal the covenant of grace and be the Mediator of it, that He should open a way of salvation to the chief of sinners, and that He should effectually save all those whom the Father had given Him, and Himself be the first-born among many brethren. This was the joy that was set before Him.
What was it that enabled Christ My Son to endure the cross? Please consider that during His ministry on Earth He did not use His Divine powers for His Own personal needs. Satan tempted Him to do this (Matt 4:1-4), but Jesus refused. It was Jesus’ faith that enabled Him to endure; He Himself is the Author and Perfecter of faith. [Heb 12:2] He kept the eye of faith on “the joy that was set before Him.” So “the joy that was set before Him” would include Jesus’ completing the Father’s will, His resurrection and exaltation, and His joy in presenting believers to the Father in glory. [Jude 24]
** **, greatly beloved…you have human emotions, and they are a spontaneous reaction to circumstances, events and things that touch your life. It is not wrong to have emotions; they are not even within your ability to control. What is wrong, My child, is to remain in your emotions and live your life in them. Your life must not be governed by your emotions; you are to walk by faith, not by your emotions nor by your senses…what you see and hear. To the Lord I [David] cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy hill. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. [Ps 3:4-6]
Friends, brothers and sisters…
There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell. You must be a born-again child of God. I tell you the truth, unless one is born again, he cannot be in God’s Kingdom. I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]
If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”
Behold the Lamb:
