Devotions: Day 1

APPLE OF MY EYE

I made you for Myself, in My Own image and in My Own likeness, to be joined together with Me in a Sacred Covenant relationship…a living union of oneness…the very crown jewels of My creation, and that, as a mirror of the Almighty, you would reflect My glory to the created Universe!”  I purchased you, by Myself and for Myself, with the precious and priceless blood of My Divine Son Jesus, that you would declare My praises…the praises of the One Who called you out of darkness into My marvelous light!”  I made you to be a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, consecrated and set apart to the worship of God…consecrated and set apart to worship Me!”

The world has become such a cold, unforgiving place. There is so much anger and very little love. Deep in the hearts of so many people there is an emptiness that neither the people of this world, nor the things this world has to offer, can fill. And that emptiness makes it impossible for us to truly love.

God alone can fully satisfy that emptiness that exists deep within the soul of every human being. He continually reveals Himself through His Word as recorded in the Scriptures, and through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, Who clearly stated, “Anyone who has seen Me in the light of Who I AM has seen the Father, for I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. I and the Father are One!”

The Word of God presents clearly His message to Humankind: God is Love; Love is My very nature, Love is My very essence, Love is the core of My Being. My reason for creating you is Love. My purpose in creating you is relationship. I made you for Myself, in My Own image and in My Own likeness, to be joined together with Me in a Sacred Covenant relationship…a living union of oneness…the very crown jewels of My creation, and that, as a mirror of the Almighty, you would reflect My Glory to the created Universe! From the very beginning, the most intense desire of My loving heart was to pour all of My Blessedness and all of My Goodness into you, to have intimate fellowship with you, and to be one with you…just as We are One with One Another in Our Blessed Holy Trinity.

Beloved…God, Who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has indeed made His marvelous light shine in your heart, revealing to you the glorious light of the knowledge of the Majesty and Glory of God manifested in the face of Christ Jesus His Son. And this is the message clearly given by Jesus, Who is Himself the Living Word: I have loved you with an Everlasting Love; I died for you. I have reached out My nail-pierced hands compassionately toward you, and with pleading eyes invite you, saying, Child, come with Me. Abide with Me and abide with My Father. I have prepared a place for you in My Father’s house, and I have prepared the way for you. My love is real, and if you would only just open your heart to it, I will fill that emptiness in your soul. The love of God will be shed abroad in your heart, and you will be filled to overflowing with all the fullness of God. Never again will you hunger; never again will you thirst! Your soul shall be forever satisfied, as with the richest of foods! You will feast on the abundance of My house; I will give you drink from My River of delights!

That is God’s overriding message throughout Scripture. Apple of My Eye is a 60 Day Daily Devotional, Day 1 through Day 60, the first in a series of Daily Devotionals that will ultimately encompass a full year. It is not my work; it is the work of the Holy Spirit. As such, all the glory belongs to Him. He is the Master Who simply used me as His paint brush to create a beautiful landscape, with vibrant colors and intricate detail. It is meant to reflect the deep and intimate Personal relationship that God desires with each of His created souls. It is God our Father speaking Personally and intimately to you as His beloved child, and your response personally and intimately to Him.

The thoughts that are presented are based on God’s message throughout His Holy Word, and are referenced to various underlying Scriptures. Wherever Bible verses are used, the wording is not taken from any one translation; they are a composite of wording woven together from multiple translations.
