Beloved…The Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire. Since everything on the Earth will be destroyed in this way, you ought to live a holy and godly life as you look forward to the coming Day of the Lord! Everyone who has this hope purifies himself, just as He is pure. [Jesus…2 Peter 3:10-12; 1 John 3:3]
Lord God Almighty…many are the sorrows of the wicked, but Your boundless mercy and unfailing love surrounds my soul which trusts in You! Rejoice in our Lord and be glad, righteous children of God! Sing to the Lord, all you who are upright in heart, seeking always to obey His will! Shout for joy to our Lord, all the Earth! Burst into jubilant songs of praise with melodious music! I shout for joy before You Lord, my King! [Ps 32:10-11; 98:4, 6]
FOR THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER
He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father. [Acts 1:4]
My beloved child…One filling, one Baptism of My Holy Spirit, is not enough. You daily need to wait for Me, your God and Father, to fulfill My promise in you. You need to keep on being continually filled with My Holy Spirit. [Eph 5:18] The Holy Spirit in you is not a Power at your disposal, nor is My Spirit an independent Power, acting apart from both My Son and Myself. My Spirit is the real Living Presence and the Power of God working in you, and therefore it is just as you know, as you fully understand, that My Spirit dwells in you…never to leave you, never to forsake you…that you will realize the absolute necessity of waiting upon Me for the full revelation and experience of what My Spirit’s indwelling is, and for His increase and abounding more and more. My apostles were not only filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, but received fresh fulfillments of My promise thereafter as well, as the need arose and as they asked. Keep in mind… My Spirit does not impart grace or strength or life as a gift given, as something that comes out from Him and is given to you to become yours, or to then be used by you in your living out your everyday life. No…He gives by giving Himself to work ALL Personally in you; He does it ALL Himself…it is all inseparable from Himself. He does it in you; you do not do ANYTHING at all other than to carefully and diligently fulfill your responsibility to actively respond to His leading and cooperate with His enabling grace working within you. You are not the doer; I am the doer. It is My work, not yours. Much more so My Holy Spirit. He is not given to you as a Power that you use in order to produce fruit or good works. No…He Himself is given to you, and then He Himself works in you, and He produces fruit and good works in you. Therefore, ALL the Glory belongs to Him! The Holy Spirit is God, present and working in His Power in you. The true position in which you can count upon that working with an unceasing Power is as you, praising Me for what you have been given, still unceasingly wait for My promise to be still more mightily fulfilled within you. With My gift of Pentecost, it is now possible for Me to take possession of My redeemed child, and work in My children as I did before the fall of Adam.
** **, the two great lessons of the spiritual life are thus: your entire sinfulness and helplessness and utter impotence to do anything towards the maintenance and increase of your inner spiritual life; the infinite willingness of God’s Love to communicate Myself and My Blessedness every moment to work in you all that you need by My Son and Spirit. Therefore, the very essence of true religion consists in an unalterable dependence upon God, because you can give Me no other glory than yielding yourself to My Love, which created you to show forth in you My Glory, that it may now perfect its work in you. The solemn truth is that you are utterly helpless and eternally unable to do anything that is good or pleasing or acceptable to God. I Myself Personally do these things through you, with you, and in you as you are in direct communication with Me and Christ Jesus My Son, and We work in you and maintain the life of the Spirit in you. This is the Eternal desire of Our heart. You can, therefore, be absolutely sure that the Omnipotent God will, through the Glorified Christ, work in you with a Power that can bring to pass things unexpected, things impossible! What will not My church be able to do when her individual members learn to live their lives waiting upon God, and when together, with all of self and the world sacrificed in the fire of love, they unite in waiting with one accord for the promise of the Father, once so gloriously fulfilled, but still unexhausted!
My brothers and sisters in Christ…our God and Father has given us the eternal gift of His Holy Spirit to dwell in each one of us…never to leave me, never to forsake me: Because you are My child, I have given you the Spirit of My Son to dwell in your heart, and He continually cries out, “Abba, Father!” All who are indeed My children are continually led by My indwelling Holy Spirit! He is the Power of the Most High God Who places me where I am to be, leads me where I am to go, shows me what I am to do to participate together with Him in His work, gives me the thoughts I am to think and to present, gives me the words I am to speak or to write, and gives me Divine tokens of my Father’s Love for me. The Holy Spirit Himself testifies together with my own human spirit, assuring me that I am indeed God’s child! As God’s child, my place is to be available to my Father to be His messenger, His ministering spirit, His watchman, whenever He calls me to Himself and sends me out in His Name. Whenever God’s children respond with an unquestioning child-like obedience to the leading of the Spirit, His anointing rests upon us!
Abba Father, You have lovingly encouraged me, as well as all of Your children: Trust in Me with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own wisdom, knowledge, and understanding; but in all your ways…watch for Me and wait before Me, look off unto Me and listen for My voice; acknowledge Me in this way, and I will most assuredly direct your paths…I will most assuredly lead you and guide you by My indwelling Holy Spirit. I have laid aside the blessings of obedience for My children! Father, this is surely the blessed life of deep and intimate personal relationship with You: my waiting upon God…watching and waiting, looking off unto You and listening for Your voice…with an unwavering child-like trust and an unreserved child-like dependence, with a joyful expectation and an excited anticipation, for You to reveal Yourself to me ever more deeply and intimately, and Your plans, Your purposes, Your will for me…SO I MAY THEN RESPOND, with an unquestioning child-like obedience, to every leading and prompting of Your Holy Spirit, cooperating with the Power of His enabling grace Who works in me both to will and to do. Hallelujah!
My soul, wait thou only upon God!
