My beloved child…come away to meet with Me at our secret place, where you will be caught up in the Power of My Holy Spirit and carried up to the Heavenly Sanctuary, into the Holy of Holies and My unclouded Presence. There I will reveal My plans, purposes, and will for you…and show you wondrous things that you know nothing about. [Father God…Rev 1:10; 4:2; 17:3; 21:10; Jer 33:3]
** **, greatly beloved, you need to trust in Me with an unwavering trust, depend upon Me with an unreserved child-like dependence, and set your heart to obey My will, and to accept My will, with an unquestioning child-like obedience. There is no other way to enter into My promised rest and abide with Me there, where all is peaceful and calm, all is tranquil and unruffled. Have you considered the disobedience of Adam, My first creation of human life?
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden? The woman said to the serpent, We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die. You will not surely die, the serpent said to the woman. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband Adam, who was with her, and he also ate it. [Gen 2:16-17; 3:1-6]
Child of God! Don’t you know; don’t you understand? To obey is better than sacrifice… for rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry!
Beloved…the Kingdom of God is not focused on eating and drinking, but rather on a life of righteousness, peace, and joy through the Power of My indwelling Holy Spirit. Anyone who serves Christ My Son in this way is well-pleasing to Me and finds approval with others as well. Therefore I have commanded you: keep on being continually filled with My Holy Spirit, giving Him free reign over the conduct of your everyday life! [Father God…Rom 14:17-18; Eph 5:18]
Brothers and sisters in Christ…following is a personal testimony illustrating how unquestioning child-like obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit always brings the blessings of God…
In talking to the Lord about the prison ministry He had called me to, I was lamenting the facts that I knew nothing about prison ministry, didn’t know how to get started in this ministry, and that I didn’t even know any prison Chaplains, or how to contact any. Then another of the Lord’s seven “are you sure yet?” experiences occurred, while at home in Brooklyn [July, 1995]. One late morning, out of the clear blue the Lord said to me [not an audible voice, but a voice speaking within me that was just as clear as if it were audible], “Go to JFK airport” I was startled! I couldn’t imagine why I was to go to the airport… and there was no further instruction, just “Go to JFK airport.” In an act of unquestioning child-like obedience, “OK, Lord,” I said; “I will do that.” I tried to think of reasons why I was to go to the airport; all I could come up with was that perhaps the Lord wanted me to hand out some copies of my new book to people there whom He was going to lead me to. So I packed a box of books, and was on my way to the airport…about an hour drive. I didn’t know where in the airport I was supposed to go, so I decided to go to the main terminal building. As I slowly walked inside the main terminal, books in hand to give out, it occurred to me that maybe doing this was prohibited. I thought to myself, “I wonder if there is a Chapel here; I could ask the minister if what I wanted to do was permissible.” Just then, right in front of me, was a sign pointing in the direction of the Chapel! There was a service in progress when I got there, so I attended the service, figuring I could talk to the minister afterwards. He invited me into his office, and as the conversation went on, I poured out my account of the Lord seemingly calling me into prison ministry, but that I did not know any Chaplains, nor how to get in touch with any. He hesitated for a moment, looked at me and said, “I am the Regional Director of Prison Chaplains for the entire Northeastern area!” Oh Lord!…Blessed be Your wonderful name; Blessed be Your marvelous name; Blessed be Your glorious name! My Your Name be exalted above all blessing and praise! Hallelujah!
