On my bed I remember You, Father; my thoughts linger with You through the watches of the night.  My soul yearns for You in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for You. [Ps 63:6; Isa 26:9]

6th: THE PILGRIM SPIRIT OF FAITH.  Faith makes me a pilgrim…a stranger and a sojourner here on Earth, because my heart is in the homeland which is Heaven.

The life of faith

Seeing, embracing and receiving are the three great steps in the life of faith.  The eye of faith sees the promise of God which Jesus has secured for me…my life here on Earth lived in the Holy of Holies, continually and unceasingly before the face of my Father.  Abiding in the Holy of Holies, in the felt-sense of the inaccessible Light of the Glory of the unclouded Presence of God.  I am to believe in the blessed life in the Holy of Holies Christ desires for me, and is able to give and maintain within me.  The eye of faith sees and longs for things in the spiritual realm that others cannot see…even though the actual possession of what is seen may appear to be afar off.  The parallel in the material world would be, while out driving or perusing through a magazine, my eyes seeing my “dream home.”  I long after it, even though the actual possession of what is seen may appear to be afar off.

Faith then embraces what was spiritually seen…the promise of God…appropriating and claiming the promises as my own, and living as those to whom these promises already actually belong, believing that the One Who promised it is faithful to do what He has promised.  Faith lives its life with a joyful expectation, an excited anticipation, of receiving the promise in experiential reality…no matter how long it takes.  In my material parallel, I embrace my dream home as my own, living my life with a joyful expectation, an excited anticipation, of the day when that home will become a reality…no matter how long it may take.

Faith then receives the fulfillment of the promise in God’s perfect time, and holds the fulfilled promise as a treasure forevermore.  In my material parallel, the day comes when I actually acquire my dream home, enjoying and taking pleasure in living there all the rest of my days.

Friends, brothers and sisters…

There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell.  You must be a born-again child of God.  I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom.  I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]

If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”

Blessed Holy Spirit, sweep over my soul:
