I spread out my hands to You, Father; my soul thirsts for You…like a parched land for just only a few drops of water! My soul waits before You, with a joyful expectation, an excited anticipation…more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning! [Ps 143:6; 130:6; 5:3]
1st ABEL: THE SACRIFICE OF FAITH. In Abel you see how faith makes death to self the entrance to the path to life. Faith is the primary prerequisite to gain entrance into the Holy of Holies and the abiding Presence of God.
Then ENOCH: THE WALK OF FAITH. The walk of faith brings the blessing of a life of unbroken fellowship with God in the Holy of Holies.
3rd NOAH: THE WORK OF FAITH. Faith saves others from death by the work it does for them. You are now called along with Noah to do the work of faith that can bless and save those around you…this is the fruit of the tree, produced by the work of the Holy Spirit dwelling within you.
4th ABRAHAM: THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH. Obedience is the very essence of faith. In the very nature of things, it is impossible to receive God without receiving and wholeheartedly embracing His will.
5th SARAH: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO LIFE. She considered God Who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word.
6th: THE PILGRIM SPIRIT OF FAITH. Faith makes me a pilgrim…a stranger and sojourner here on Earth, because my heart is in the homeland which is Heaven.
Now 7th] ABRAHAM: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO DEATH
By faith Abraham, while being put to the test by God, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was ready to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God was able to raise him up from among the dead, and indeed, in the sense that Isaac was figuratively dead in having been offered as a sacrifice, he did actually receive him back from the dead. [Heb 11:17-19]
The trust of faith unto death
With Sarah, we saw the trust of faith unto life; she believed God to bring forth life from one who was as good as dead. The result of her faith was the son of promise…Isaac. With Abraham, we see the far deeper trust of faith unto death. He was to offer up the son of promise…Isaac…as a sacrifice unto death. The result of his faith was receiving the son of promise back from the dead.
Parallel in my life
God shows me here the exact parallel in my own life. I exercised the trust of faith in Christ unto life, and indeed I was given my new life in Christ, born anew by the Spirit of God. Then I am called of God to offer up my new life in Christ unto death…death to sin and death to self, self-sacrifice and self-denial, obedience and suffering. I am called of God to the far deeper trust of faith unto death. When I do indeed in obedience offer myself up unto death, God grants me His promise…He raises me up into that new and deeper life He has prepared for me, life in the Holy of Holies, even now, here on Earth.
A soul may well be the recipient of God’s boundless mercy and infinite grace, and yet never enjoy that deeper life of power and rest within the Holy of Holies secured by Christ on my behalf…a life of joy unspeakable, and full of glory. A soul may well never appropriate the promise of abundant life given me by Christ Jesus: I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. [John 10:10] This is the consequence of both unbelief and disobedience: I refuse to offer up my new life in Christ unto death. Indeed, my worst sin is not to believe God will do what He has promised. When God made His solemn promise, “They will never enter the land where I would have given them rest”…of whom was He speaking? Of those who rebelled. We see, then, that they were not able to enter the land, because they did not believe. Let us, then, do our best to receive that rest, so that no one of us will fail as they did because of their lack of faith. [Heb 3:18-19, 4:11]
Friends, brothers and sisters…
There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell. You must be a born-again child of God. I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom. I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]
If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”
There is Power in the Blood of the Lamb:
