Blessed Jesus…have You not promised?…I will never, never, leave you; I will never, ever, forsake you!  Assuredly not!  O Lord, You are my Help; of whom shall I be afraid?  What can man do to me? [Heb 13:5-6]

7th ABRAHAM: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO DEATH.  With Sarah, we saw the trust of faith unto life.  The result of her faith was the son of promise…Isaac.  With Abraham, we see the far deeper trust of faith unto death.  The result of his faith was receiving the son of promise back from the dead.

Death the only way to life

As a characteristic of Abraham’s faith, we have here again that great word…offering.  In one way or another, the life of faith always means sacrifice.  In a sinful world, there is no way of drawing nigh to God, of coming out of the sinful nature, but by dying to it, and receiving a new life from God Himself, or rather by God giving His Own life into the dead one to raise it again.  There is no way to God but by giving up my own self-life, and all my self-interests that are as dear to me as life, unto death.  Only through death can I be delivered from the power of sin and death; only through death can my life become one wholly possessed by God.  I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of all the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies, presenting all your members and faculties as a living sacrifice, holy and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service and spiritual worship.  Do not be conformed to this world, fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs, but be transformed and changed by the entire renewal of your mind, embracing new ideals and an entirely new attitude, so that you may prove for yourselves what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect in His sight for you. [Rom 12:1-2]

Faith in God, Who raises up the dead

This sacrifice is only possible by faith.  God’s great object in leading me in the path of faith is to train me for ever larger sacrifice.  For Abraham, the crowning sacrifice was in giving up his only son…the son of promise…unto death.  It was faith in God as the Almighty One, able to raise up even from the dead, that gave Abraham strength and courage in this his severest trial.  Herein lies the deepest roots of the life of faith.  The deeper I am willing to enter into death to self, the more shall I know of the mighty power of God, and the perfect blessedness of a perfect trust.

Friends, brothers and sisters…

There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell.  You must be a born-again child of God.  I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom.  I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]

If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”

Worthy is the Lamb:
