January 21

Abba Father…my flesh and my heart may fail…often do…but You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever!  My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.  Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing Love, for You are my Refuge and my Fortress…my God, in Whom I trust! [Ps 73:26; 63:8; 91:1]

7th ABRAHAM: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO DEATH.  With Sarah, we saw the trust of faith unto life.  The result of her faith was the son of promise…Isaac.  With Abraham, we see the far deeper trust of faith unto death.  The result of his faith was receiving the son of promise back from the dead.

Bearing witness to a child-like trust: Job’s witness

Then Job’s wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity?  Curse God and die!”  But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak.  Shall we indeed welcome and accept only blessings from the hand of God and not also accept the misfortune and adversity He allows?”  Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come? [Job 2:9-10; Lam 3:38]

Then Job arose and rent his robe and shaved his head and fell down upon the ground and worshiped and said, “Naked and without possessions came I into this world from my mother’s womb, and naked without possessions shall I depart.  The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord!”  In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly.  Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. [Job 1:20-22, 13:15]

I bear witness to my child-like trust in God when…

  • I patiently accept the adversities that touch my lfe through circumstances, events, things, trials, perplexities, hardships, pressures, suffering, troubles, affliction, infirmities, insults, distresses, persecutions, grief, etc.  God is the Sovereign All-Ruler over all Creation, and He has specifically, consciously, and deliberately allowed, or Personally caused, these adversities to touch my life, for His Own good purpose.  I may not understand…oftentimes I don’t…but I can trust Him Who makes all things work together for my good.  In the surrender of faith: “Lord…it no longer matters to me where You place me, or how; it no longer matters to me what I do or what I suffer.  All that matters is that You keep my heart lovingly and joyfully joined with Your will.”
  • I wait with a joyful expectation, an excited anticipation, for the certain fulfillment of God’s every promise.  It does not matter if God takes 25 years to grant the promise, as He did with Abraham.  It also does not matter if I never receive the promise during my lifetime, as the hero’s of faith did not.  I will hold unswervingly to the hope I profess, for He Who promised is faithful. [Heb 10:23]
  • I boldly bring my requests before Him, knowing that He will grant my requests that are in agreement with His will.  Father…You have assured me that I may have this confidence in approaching God: “If you make any request in agreement with My will, I shall hear you.  And since you know that I will hear you in whatever you ask, you may be sure, beyond the shadow of any doubt, that I shall grant you the request that is in agreement with My will you have made of Me. [1 John 5:14-15]  If God does not grant my request, then I can be sure that it is not in agreement with His will; He has some other purpose in mind.  I need to wait upon Him, asking Him to reveal His plans, His purposes, His will for me through these adversities.

Friends, brothers and sisters…

There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell.  You must be a born-again child of God.  I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom.  I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]

If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”

My Jesus, I love Thee:
