Lord God Almighty…Who is there like unto You? Who can be compared with You? Who is Your equal? Who was there when You formed the Heavens and all their starry hosts, and You called them out, each one, by name? [Isa 40:25-26; Ps 147:4]
10th ISRAEL: THE REDEMPTION OF FAITH. In all that God does in redemption, on man’s part faith is the beginning and ending.
Now 11th FAITH: ITS POWER OF ACHIEVEMENT
And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and obtained promised blessings; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of raging fire, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength, who became powerful in battle, and who routed foreign armies. Some women even received back their dead by a resurrection. [Heb 11:32-35]
Faith activates the Power of God working in me
The writer mentions three sets of three great achievements of faith:
1] What they were able to accomplish through faith: conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and obtained promised blessings.
2] Personal deliverance through faith: shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of raging fire, and escaped the edge of the sword.
3] Personal strengthening through the power of faith: whose weakness was turned to strength, who became powerful in battle, who routed foreign armies.
And then there is added one more thing: Some women even received back their dead by a resurrection. There is no power on Earth that can stand before the power of faith, because the power of faith is the Power of God working in me.
Faith: the vital principle of my life
The writer of Hebrew’s purpose in bringing before me these hero’s of faith is not to recount the recorded events of their lives, but to show that faith in God was the vital principle underlying their lives. The exercise of faith is the breaking out of the Divine life within, the very substance of things hoped for, the proof of the presence of things not seen. Now faith is the assurance…the confirmation, the title deed…of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality, such proof and conviction borne witness to by our everyday manner of living, faith perceiving as real fact, and living a life that is in accordance with that fact, what is not revealed to the senses. [Heb 11:1]
Friends, brothers and sisters…
There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell. You must be a born-again child of God. I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom. I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]
If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”
Breathe on me breath of God:
