January 26

At that time the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Five of them were foolish and did not take extra oil with them.  The wise, however, took extra oil in jars along with their lamps, and so were ready for his coming.  Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. [Jesus…Matt 25:1-13]

1st ABEL: THE SACRIFICE OF FAITH.  In Abel I see how faith makes death to self the entrance to the path to life.  Faith is the primary prerequisite to gain entrance into the Holy of Holies and the abiding Presence of God.

Then ENOCH: THE WALK OF FAITH.  The walk of faith brings the blessing of a life of unbroken fellowship with God in the Holy of Holies.

3rd NOAH: THE WORK OF FAITH.  Faith saves others from death by the work it does for them.  I am now called along with Noah to do the work of faith that can bless and save those around me…this is the fruit of the tree, produced by the work of the Holy Spirit dwelling within me.

4th ABRAHAM: THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH.  Obedience is the very essence of faith.  In the very nature of things, it is impossible to receive God without receiving and wholeheartedly embracing His will.

5th SARAH: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO LIFE.  She considered God Who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word.

6th: THE PILGRIM SPIRIT OF FAITH.  Faith makes me a pilgrim…a stranger and sojourner here on Earth, because my heart is in the homeland which is Heaven.

7th ABRAHAM: THE TRUST OF FAITH UNTO DEATH.  With Sarah, I saw the trust of faith unto life, resulting in the son of promise…Isaac.  With Abraham, I see the far deeper trust of faith unto death, resulting in receiving the son of promise back from the dead.

With eyes of faith Isaac, looking far into the future, invoked blessings upon Jacob and Esau. Prompted by faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.  Actuated by faith Joseph, when nearing the end of his life, referred to the promise of God for the departure of the Israelites out of Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his own bones.  Prompted by faith, Moses’ parents concealed him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. [Heb 11:20-24]

The blessings of faith upon the children

In the spiritual world, the man of faith is a blessing to his children.  In these verses we have four examples of the blessing of faith upon the children.  Faith never confines itself to the believer himself, but touches his home, his children, and everyone else with whom he comes into contact with.

Faith: the secret of blessing, the power to influence

Whether parent, teacher, worker…the secret of blessing in the work and the power to influence, is faith.  And not simply the faith in some promises at times, but the habit of a holy faith that makes God the All of my everyday life.  I am to have faith in God as the God of my every day life, the God Who maintains His life and Presence within me.  He will work mightily through me.

Faith must BE my life

How can a Christian parent secure the blessings of God for their children?  By faith alone.  Not just the exercise of faith now and again, but a life of faith…making way for God and giving Him absolute rule and reign over my life.  My life must be all faith.  The unseen things of the spiritual realm, and our unseen God, must BE my life.  I live on this Earth as a stranger, pilgrim, sojourner; my whole life is to be hope in God and what He will most assuredly do.  The blessing and the Power are His; as I have more of God in my life and in my home, there will be God’s hidden power resting on my children.

Pathway into the Promised Land

Separation from the world, set apart unto God, denial of self and its life, the imitation of Abraham in his going out, of Christ in His self-sacrifice…this is the only way to the land of promise…the Holy of Holies…where the faith life flourishes.  To live wholly for God, to hope alone in God, always to walk with God, in all things to listen attentively for the voice of God…this is the new and living way into the Heavenly Sanctuary that Christ Jesus prepared for me, in which Jesus our High Priest leads me. Wherefore brethren, having now boldness to enter into the Holiest, by the way which He dedicated for us, a new and living way to God, through the veil, that is to say, through the veil of His flesh, let us then draw nigh in fullness of faith; here let us continually abide in the fullness of faith. [Heb 10:19, 22]  This is our land of promise, the place for the life of separation, and obedience, and faith.  This is the place where my faith can grow freely, and God can prove all His power in me.  And this is the place where my faith will in full measure be a blessing not only to my children, but to all whose lives I touch.  I am to let faith see, and consent, and prove that God is ALL, and He will prove that He is a God of blessing and Power for me and all those around me.

Friends, brothers and sisters…

There is one absolutely necessary preparation for every living soul on the face of this Earth, for the soon coming and imminent return of Jesus Christ…the one preparation that will irrevocably determine in which neighborhood you will spend all eternity, whether in Heaven or in Hell.  You must be a born-again child of God.  I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s Kingdom.  I tell you the truth, no one can ever enter the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at My saying you must be born again. [Jesus…John 3:3-7]

If you have never been born again,
or you are not sure whether you have been born again,
or you have been living your life as a lukewarm Christian and would now like to recommit your life and enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Christ Jesus in preparation for the soon coming marriage supper of the Lamb…
then I counsel you to get alone with God, read the solemn marriage vows you must make to become the bride of Christ and thereby be born-again, [https://preservechristianfamily.org/2019/01/21/bride-of-christ/], and with sincerity of heart from within the depths of your being, acknowledge before God, “I DO.”
